Welcome to
Atlantis Records Hackney

We buy and sell records

We’re a second hand record shop in Hackney, East London. If you’re interested in selling a collection, please give us a call or send a message.

We’re always available for home visits or you’re welcome to bring your records to the shop. We’re open 7 days a week and are happy to discuss anything music related at any time.

We are John Coxon and Liam Casey. We opened Atlantis in 2020 to buy and sell collectible records. We have been friends for 20 years, meeting through a shared love of music and slightly problematic record addictions.

John has many years of experience working in the music industry as a musician and producer. As well as running the shop he runs the record label, Treader.

Between us, we have decades of experience of buying and selling records. We have dealt with large collections from well known figures like Geoff Travis (Rough Trade founder), Charles Bullen (This Heat) and Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), to those of local and national record collectors of every stripe.

What we buy

We travel far and wide for good collections of rock, pop, indie, soul, jazz, African, dance, hip hop, soundtracks, punk, post-punk, electronica, folk, psychedelia, krautrock, jungle, techno, drum’n’bass and reggae.

We also buy cassettes, 7″ singles, international 78’s and any other music-related material.

We’re totally passionate about what we do and can give you the most for your precious record collection however large or small. We can pay by cash, paypal or bank transfer: whatever suits you best. If you’re still collecting we offer trade deals.

Sell Your
Records

It’s easy to sell your vinyl to Atlantis.

If you only have a few records, it’s better to bring them to the shop. For large collections, we’ll visit you and give you a free valuation. We collect in and around London, the UK and abroad.

Call John on 07976283812 or Liam on 07816963127. We’re available for a chat at any time and will advise you on whether or not your collection is worth selling at the moment.

You can also WhatsApp us on the same numbers. It often helps to send photos or a quick video of your collection so we can get an idea of condition. Equally, we’re happy to arrange a viewing at your home at a time that suits you.

Alternatively, you can send a quick email to atlantisrecordshackney@gmail.com

Best prices paid

We don't sell online which means we can give you the most cash for your records. We really do pay the best prices. That's what our satisfied sellers say.

"I wanted to sell some of my records and have never done so previously, so I was a bit nervous. When I talked to John in the shop, he was very attentive and agreed to come and evaluate what I have straight away. He gave me a very fair price! From my enquiry to the collection of my records, it was quick, smooth and professional. I highly recommend this shop and John if you want to sell your collection!"

Koo (Hackney)

"John and Liam dealt fairly with me and honestly as they are not only connoisseurs of music but also upstanding citizens with a code of ethics. They rescued not only all the records but some other various memorabilia which they managed to sell at prices that were unimaginable to me as I had not considered they were of any value. They could definitely do the same for you. Give them a chance to prove it to you. I could not be happier with their efforts on my behalf."

Geoff Travis, Rough Trade Records

"Liam and John are as generous with their knowledge as they are with their pricing, and the shop is excellent. It can be tricky to sell records for cash, however at Atlantis it has actually been friendly and good fun. On both occasions I've sold to them they have been more than reasonable with their prices, and in fact have offered more than expected. I always look forward to going back."
